The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Ramatu Aliyu, has submitted herself for Coronavirus testing in compliance with the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Aliyu disclosed late Wednesday that her decision to test for COVID-19 came after she had close contact with persons who tested positive for the virus.
She said, “I have just given my samples to test for #COVID19
“I feel well and have been in self-isolation since yesterday evening because I was in contact with people who tested positive for Coronavirus.
The NCDC had said 10 out of the 51 present confirmed cases of COVID-19 were in Abuja, the federal capital territory.
Aliyu, who is a member of the Presidential Task Force on Coronavirus, may have had direct contact with another member of the team, the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who tested positive on Tuesday.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who also came in contact with the confirmed cases in Abuja, had tested negative for the virus.
